A chance to meet and find out about our water buffalo herd and Jacob flock, including this years' lambs. Russell Bremner from Schoolhouse Farm said: “There is a lot to celebrate about farming and food – so do come and join us on Open Farm Sunday and find out more! My family and I are really looking forward to welcoming everyone and showing them around the farm. Come and meet our herd of water buffalo, see them grazing, and learn about water buffalo meat. Also keep a look out for the other wildlife that thrives on our farm.”
Annabel Shackleton, Open Farm Sunday manager said: “Open Farm Sunday is a great opportunity for everyone to get out into the countryside and visit a farm. It is vital that we support our farmers and understand more about the work they do, and find out for yourself how your food is produced and what it takes to look after the countryside. Hundreds of farms across the country will be opening their gates on the 8th June to celebrate British farming and food; each farm plans their own unique event and many will include a host of activities from nature walks to farm tours. So visitors will get a fascinating insight into aspects of the countryside that they wouldn’t normally see.”
